Product Description
Create an Expansive Sanctuary with King Floor Plus Condor Oak
If you are looking to elevate your home with a floor that radiates both luxury and spaciousness, the King Floor Plus Condor Oak (L274) is a definitive choice. This stunning gold-coloured oak laminate floor is part of the premium Kronopol collection, specifically designed for those who want the grandeur of wide-open spaces. At Floorstore Direct, we have solidified our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy engineered and laminate flooring because we curate ranges that handle the specific demands of Irish life while looking world-class.
The “Plus” in this range refers to the extraordinary long and wide board format (). These oversized planks significantly reduce the number of visible joints, creating a seamless, “country house” aesthetic that makes any room feel exponentially larger. When paired with the 12mm thickness, you get a floor that doesn’t just look solid—it sounds and feels like genuine hardwood underfoot.
Engineering Excellence: AC6 Durability & 24H Water Resistance
While many high-end floors prioritise style over substance, Kronopol flooring—manufactured by the world-renowned Swiss Krono Group—is over-engineered for total peace of mind. The Condor Oak is built to survive the chaos of a busy modern household or high-traffic commercial setting.
- AC6 Abrasion Rating: While AC5 is usually the gold standard, this floor is often certified to AC6 levels, the highest durability classification possible. It is virtually immune to scratches from pets, high heels, and heavy furniture.
- 24-Hour Aqua Stop: Ireland is no stranger to moisture. This range features an integrated water-resistant core that protects against standing water for up to 24 hours, making it a safe and stylish choice for kitchens, hallways, and open-plan living zones.
- 12mm Stability: The extra thickness provides a robust foundation, making the floor more stable over long spans and offering excellent sound absorption compared to thinner, noisier laminates.

Ask a Question
1. How do the "Long & Wide" boards benefit smaller Irish rooms? It is a common design myth that large boards are only for large rooms. In reality, the oversized dimensions of Condor Oak ( long) reduce "visual clutter" by having fewer seams. This tricks the eye into seeing a more continuous surface, making a standard Irish living room or hallway feel significantly longer and more open.
2. Does the "Gold" colour tone work with modern "Grey" interiors? Absolutely. Condor Oak is a "warm neutral." It acts as a perfect organic counterpoint to cool grey walls or navy cabinetry, bringing much-needed warmth and "soul" back into modern, monochromatic designs. It prevents a room from feeling sterile while maintaining a high-end, contemporary look.
3. Is the 12mm thickness difficult to install around existing door frames? Because the boards are 12mm thick, they are exceptionally stable but may require a slight trim to the bottom of your door frames (undercutting) if you are replacing a thinner 8mm floor. However, the benefit is that this thickness often aligns perfectly with floor tiles in kitchens, allowing for a level, flush transition between different room types.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate flooring is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
