Product Description
Timeless Radiance with King Floor Joanna
There is a specific kind of warmth that only a golden oak floor can provide—a sense of home that feels both established and inviting. The King Floor Joanna Oak (D4913) captures this classic aesthetic perfectly, offering a rich, honeyed palette that brightens even the most modest of spaces. At Floorstore Direct, we have built our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy engineered and laminate flooring because we prioritize products that stand up to the rigours of modern life while looking spectacular.
The Joanna Oak is a flagship of the King Floor collection by Kronopol. Unlike standard, thin laminates that can feel flimsy or sound hollow, this board features a substantial 12mm thickness. This added density provides a rock-solid feel underfoot, mimicking the weight and acoustic profile of real solid wood. Whether you are aiming for a traditional farmhouse vibe or a warm contemporary look, Joanna Oak provides a versatile, high-end foundation that complements a wide range of interior styles.
Engineered for Resilience: AC5 and Swiss Krono Precision
The beauty of Kronopol flooring—part of the world-renowned Swiss Krono Group—is that it is “over-engineered” for peace of mind. Joanna Oak isn’t just a beautiful surface; it is a high-performance shield for your home.
-
AC5 Abrasion Rating: This is the highest durability classification available for laminate flooring. Certified for heavy commercial use, it is virtually impervious to scratches from pets, high heels, and moving furniture.
-
Superior Water Resistance: Modern families need floors that can handle life’s little accidents. This range features a high-density, water-resistant core designed to resist swelling and moisture damage, making it a reliable choice for kitchens, hallways, and busy utility areas.
-
Express Click System: Time is a luxury. The precision-engineered click system allows for a swift, gap-free installation. It’s a “fitter’s favorite” that ensures a professional finish whether you are a DIY enthusiast or a professional contractor.

Ask a Question
1. Does the "Golden Oak" tone of Joanna Oak clash with grey modern furniture? Actually, Joanna Oak is a "bridge" colour. While it is warm, it contains neutral undertones that help balance cooler grey walls or navy cabinetry. It adds a necessary organic warmth that prevents a modern, monochrome room from feeling too sterile or cold.
2. How does the 12mm thickness impact the "tapping" sound of pets? One of the biggest complaints with 8mm laminate is the "clicky" sound of dog claws. The 12mm King Floor density provides significantly better sound dampening. When paired with a high-quality acoustic underlay, it absorbs impact noise much more effectively, creating a quieter, more "solid-wood" acoustic experience.
3. Is Joanna Oak suitable for heavy Irish antique furniture? Yes. Thanks to its AC5 wear layer and the 12mm high-density core, this floor has excellent indentation resistance. Unlike real oak, which can dent under the weight of a heavy mahogany sideboard or piano, Joanna Oak is designed to support significant weight without compromising the click-lock joints or leaving permanent marks.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
