Brighten Your Interior with King Floor Grace
In the world of interior design, light is the ultimate luxury. The King Floor Grace (D4915) is a masterclass in radiance, offering a stunning light yellow oak palette that infuses any room with the warmth of a summer morning. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy engineered and laminate flooringbecause we curate collections that balance high-end aesthetics with the rugged durability required for modern Irish life.
Part of the prestigious King Floor range from Kronopol, Grace is designed for those who want to create an airy, expansive feel. While many laminates can feel thin, this 12mm thick board provides a substantial, solid feel underfoot that mimics the acoustic profile and weight of real hardwood. Whether you are revitalizing a dark hallway or designing a sun-drenched open-plan living area, Grace provides a sophisticated, natural foundation that complements both traditional and contemporary decor.
Commercial-Grade Strength: AC5 & Swiss Krono Engineering
The beauty of Kronopol flooring lies in its “over-engineered” construction. As a leading brand within the global Swiss Krono Group, Kronopol utilizes precision European manufacturing to ensure every plank is a fortress against daily wear.
-
AC5 Abrasion Rating: This is the highest durability classification available for laminate flooring. Certified for heavy commercial use, Grace Oak is virtually immune to the scratches caused by pets, high heels, and moving furniture.
-
Advanced Water Resistance: We know that life in Ireland involves a bit of moisture. This range features a high-density, water-resistant core that resists swelling, making it a practical and beautiful solution for kitchens and utility rooms.
-
12mm Stability: The added thickness doesn’t just feel better; it makes the floor more forgiving of minor subfloor imperfections and provides superior stability over long spans.

Ask a Question
1. Does the "light yellow" tone of Grace Oak change in different lighting? Because of its unique yellow-gold undertones, Grace Oak is highly reactive to light. In cool, northern-facing rooms common in Ireland, it adds a much-needed "warmth" that prevents the space from looking grey. In bright, south-facing rooms, the golden hues become more vibrant, mimicking a natural sun-bleached timber.
2. Is the 12mm thickness overkill for a bedroom? While 8mm is standard for bedrooms, 12mm is a "quality of life" upgrade. The extra density provides significantly better sound dampening, meaning you won't hear the hollow "tapping" sound of footsteps—a major benefit if you have children or pets moving around at night.
3. How does Grace Oak handle the heavy furniture used in Irish homes? Thanks to the AC5 rating and the 12mm high-density core, this floor has a high "indentation resistance." Unlike real wood or softer vinyl, it is designed to support heavy sideboards, pianos, or dining tables without leaving permanent marks or compromising the click-lock joints.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
