Product Description

Discover the Heritage of King Floor Celtic Oak

When it comes to selecting a floor that embodies both the rugged beauty of the Irish landscape and the precision of modern engineering, the King Floor Celtic Oak (D2594/D4903) stands in a league of its own. At Floorstore Direct, we have solidified our position as the best place in Ireland to buy engineered and laminate flooring by consistently offering products that marry high-end aesthetics with unbeatable durability. This natural oak decor brings a timeless, organic warmth to your home, featuring the intricate grain patterns and earthy tones that make authentic oak so beloved.

The King Floor collection by Kronopol is the ultimate choice for homeowners who want the “real wood” feel without the high-maintenance price tag. Boasting a substantial 12mm thickness, these boards offer a solid, heavy-set feel underfoot that eliminates the hollow “clack” often associated with thinner alternatives. Whether you are aiming for a traditional farmhouse aesthetic or a sleek Scandinavian finish, Celtic Oak provides the perfect, versatile foundation for your interior.

Built for Life: AC5 Strength and Water Resistance

The true brilliance of Kronopol flooring—part of the world-renowned Swiss Krono Group—is found in its heavy-duty construction. The Celtic Oak isn’t just a pretty face; it is engineered to survive the most demanding environments.

  • AC5 Abrasion Rating: This is the highest durability grade available for laminate flooring. Certified for heavy commercial use, it is virtually impervious to scratches from pets, high heels, and moving furniture. In a busy Irish household, this means peace of mind for decades.
  • Water-Resistant Core: Modern life is messy, but Celtic Oak is ready. Featuring an advanced water-resistant core, this floor is designed to repel surface moisture, making it a stylish and safe choice for kitchens, hallways, and open-plan living areas where spills are a part of daily life.
  • Express Click System: Time is precious. The precision-engineered click mechanism allows for a swift, gap-free installation. It’s a “fitter’s favorite” that ensures a professional finish whether you are a seasoned pro or a determined DIYer.

Ask a Question

1. Is 12mm thickness better for sound insulation? Yes. The 12mm density of the King Floor range significantly reduces impact noise and provides a much quieter, more "solid" acoustic profile compared to standard 8mm boards.

2. Can I install Celtic Oak in a high-traffic shop or office? Absolutely. Thanks to its AC5 rating, this floor is specifically designed for high-traffic commercial zones like boutiques, offices, and showrooms, as well as busy residential homes.

3. Does the "water-resistant" feature mean I can use it in a wet room? While it is highly resistant to surface spills and moisture (perfect for kitchens), it is not intended for "wet rooms" or walk-in showers. For kitchens and bathrooms, we recommend using a waterproof sealant around the perimeter for total protection.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
