Product Description

Bring timeless elegance and calming warmth to your home with Kahrs Oak Oyster, a beautifully balanced engineered wood floor that combines contemporary styling with the natural character of European oak. Available now at FloorStore Direct – Ireland’s trusted source for premium flooring – this floor is the perfect blend of Scandinavian design, soft texture, and lasting quality.

Part of the stylish Kahrs Lumen Collection, Oak Oyster stands out for its soft grey-beige tone, created using a delicate staining process that gently mutes the oak’s natural golden hues. The result is a sophisticated, neutral floor that brings lightness and calm to any room, perfectly suited for modern, minimalist, coastal, and Nordic-inspired interiors.

Each plank is brushed to lift the grain and reveal the organic patterns of the oak, adding a subtle yet distinct texture underfoot. This enhances the raw, tactile experience of real wood – and it’s further enriched by the application of a natural oxidative oil finish. This oil penetrates deep into the timber, protecting it from within while preserving a matte, untreated look that improves with age. It also allows for easy maintenance and localised repairs, making this floor both beautiful and practical for busy homes.

Kahrs Oak Oyster is built on a robust three-layer engineered construction, ensuring excellent dimensional stability and making it suitable for the fluctuating climate of Irish homes. It is also fully compatible with underfloor heating systems, adding everyday comfort to its list of impressive benefits.

The Woodloc® 5G click system ensures fast and precise installation, locking each plank securely in place without gaps. This makes it ideal for both professional installers and experienced DIY users aiming for a flawless, long-lasting finish.

As with all Kahrs flooring, sustainability and environmental care are a cornerstone of Oak Oyster. It is produced using FSC-certified European oak and finished with low-VOC natural oils, helping to support healthier indoor air and responsible forest practices.

Whether you’re designing a serene bedroom retreat, a light-filled open-plan kitchen, or a contemporary coastal living area, Kahrs Oak Oyster offers a versatile, timeless backdrop that elevates any space.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Kahrs Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
