Product Description
Discover modern sophistication and timeless elegance with Kährs Oak Nouveau Grey, a beautifully designed engineered wood floor that combines Scandinavian craftsmanship with natural charm. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm oak floor features a stained, brushed, and matt lacquered finish that perfectly balances contemporary style with the organic beauty of real oak.
Each plank of Kährs Oak Nouveau Grey is carefully stained in a soft, smoky grey tone that enhances the natural grain and texture of the wood while adding a refined, modern edge. The brushed surface highlights the intricate details of the oak’s structure, giving it a tactile, natural feel that’s both elegant and inviting. The matt lacquered finish adds a protective layer that maintains the wood’s authentic appearance while providing excellent durability against daily wear and tear. Unlike glossy finishes, this soft sheen gives the floor a subtle, understated glow — ideal for creating a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The rustic grading of Kährs Oak Nouveau Grey celebrates the individuality and character of natural oak. Each board features knots, sapwood, and gentle colour variation, ensuring no two planks are ever the same. This organic diversity gives your floor warmth and depth, capturing the timeless appeal of genuine hardwood while maintaining a distinctly modern aesthetic. Whether used in a minimalist apartment, a coastal-inspired home, or a classic country setting, this floor adds texture, tone, and visual interest to any interior.
Engineered for strength, stability, and long-lasting performance, this 14mm multi-layered engineered floor offers all the beauty of solid oak with none of the limitations. Unlike traditional hardwood, engineered flooring is designed to handle fluctuations in humidity and temperature — a must for Irish homes. The layered construction prevents movement and warping, making it suitable for underfloor heating and ensuring your floor remains perfectly level and beautiful for years to come.
Kährs Oak Nouveau Grey can be installed using either glue-down or float methods. Gluing the floor directly to the subfloor provides a strong, solid feel underfoot, while floating it over an underlay allows for faster, more flexible installation. Both options deliver a seamless finish that enhances the elegant grain pattern and smooth tones of this exquisite oak floor.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kahrs Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
