Product Description
Bring natural depth, warmth, and handcrafted elegance into your home with Kahrs Oak Earth, a premium engineered wood floor that blends traditional artistry with modern flooring innovation. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted supplier of engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm oak floor is defined by its smoked, brushed, hand-scraped, and oiled finish — a stunning combination that delivers texture, durability, and a timeless sense of luxury.
Each plank of Kahrs Oak Earth is smoked to deepen the natural tones of the oak, infusing the wood with rich brown and cocoa hues that highlight its organic beauty. The surface is then brushed and hand-scraped by skilled craftsmen to accentuate the unique grain and texture of the timber, creating a surface that feels warm, rustic, and authentically aged. The final oiled finish penetrates deep into the wood, enhancing its natural tone while offering excellent protection against wear. The result is a floor that feels soft underfoot, looks naturally elegant, and ages beautifully over time — perfect for homes that value character and craftsmanship.
The rustic grading of Kährs Oak Earth celebrates the individuality of real wood. Each board features visible knots, colour variations, and touches of sapwood, giving every installation its own unique story. This organic diversity ensures your floor feels natural and full of life, adding texture and authenticity to any room. Whether you’re designing a cosy cottage retreat, a modern open-plan living space, or a luxurious commercial interior, this floor brings warmth, depth, and distinction to every setting.
Built with both beauty and performance in mind, this 14mm multi-layered engineered floor provides exceptional stability and strength. Unlike solid wood flooring, engineered flooring is designed to handle Ireland’s ever-changing climate, resisting movement caused by temperature and humidity fluctuations. This advanced construction ensures your floor remains smooth, secure, and stunning for years, while retaining the rich look and feel of traditional hardwood.
Installation is simple and flexible. Kährs Oak Earth can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, permanent finish or floated over an underlay for quicker installation and added comfort. Both methods ensure a seamless, elegant look that enhances the natural beauty of the oak.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kahrs Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
