Product Description
Elevate your space with the timeless charm of Kahrs Herringbone Oak Grey, a stunning engineered wood floor that blends traditional parquet patterning with a modern grey finish. Available at FloorStore Direct, this floor brings architectural elegance and contemporary colour into perfect harmony – ideal for Irish homes seeking character, warmth, and sophistication.
Crafted from high-quality European oak, Herringbone Oak Grey features a refined grain structure accentuated by a soft grey stain and subtle brushing. This treatment adds both texture and depth while maintaining a neutral tone that complements a wide variety of interior styles – from classic period homes to sleek, modern designs.
Unlike traditional solid parquet, this floor is constructed using Kahrs’ advanced multi-layer engineering, providing greater stability and compatibility with underfloor heating systems – a major advantage in Ireland’s ever-changing climate. Each plank is pre-finished with a durable matt lacquer that protects the surface while maintaining the natural look and feel of real wood.
The classic herringbone pattern creates visual interest and movement, transforming even the simplest room into a designer-inspired space. Whether installed in a hallway, kitchen, living room or boutique commercial space, Kahrs Herringbone Oak Grey delivers sophistication that never goes out of style.
This floor also features tongue and groove installation for professional fitting, ensuring a precise layout that highlights the heritage of parquet flooring. It’s part of Kährs’ sustainable product line – made with responsibly sourced wood and low-VOC finishes, making it an eco-conscious choice for modern homeowners.

Recommend Adhesive
Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kahrs Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
