Product Description
Bring natural beauty, warmth, and timeless elegance to your home with Kahrs Oak Barrique, a luxurious engineered wood floor that perfectly blends Scandinavian craftsmanship with modern durability. Available now at FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading supplier of engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm oak floor features a stunning stained, brushed, and oiled finish that enhances the natural grain and character of the timber. Designed for versatility and long-lasting performance, it’s the perfect choice for homeowners and designers seeking a floor that combines style, strength, and authenticity.
Each plank of Kahrs Oak Barrique is stained to a rich, warm tone, adding depth and definition to the natural oak grain. The brushed surface brings out the wood’s organic texture, creating a tactile finish that feels as good as it looks. The oiled coating penetrates deep into the wood, enhancing its colour while providing a protective layer that preserves the floor’s natural look and feel. Unlike high-gloss finishes, this oil treatment maintains a soft, matte sheen that adds warmth and character to every room. It’s the perfect balance of luxury and practicality — elegant enough for contemporary spaces yet rustic enough to complement traditional interiors.
The rustic grading of Kährs Oak Barrique celebrates the natural individuality of real wood. Each plank features visible knots, tonal variations, and occasional sapwood, giving the floor personality and texture. This organic variation means that no two boards are exactly the same, resulting in a truly unique floor full of life and natural charm. Whether used in a bright modern home or a classic country-style setting, Oak Barrique adds an unmistakable sense of comfort, sophistication, and authenticity.
Built for performance as well as beauty, this 14mm multi-layered engineered floor is designed to provide superior stability and durability. Unlike solid wood, engineered flooring resists warping, shrinking, and expansion due to humidity or temperature changes — making it ideal for Irish homes and underfloor heating systems. This ensures a stable, secure fit that retains its beauty for years to come.
Installation is flexible and efficient. Kährs Oak Barrique can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, permanent feel, or floated over an underlay for easier installation and added comfort underfoot. Both methods ensure a flawless finish that enhances your space with understated elegance.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kahrs Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
