Product Description
High 5 European Oak engineered flooring is a superb choice for homeowners and commercial clients seeking the natural beauty of real wood combined with modern performance and stability. At FloorStore Direct, we are proud to offer this striking 18mm thick European white oak engineered floor, carefully manufactured to meet the demands of contemporary Irish homes while delivering timeless aesthetic appeal.
Finished with a high-quality matt lacquer, this floor showcases the authentic character of real oak while providing excellent resistance to everyday wear. The matt finish subtly enhances the grain and texture of the wood without excessive sheen, making it an ideal option for both modern interiors and more traditional spaces. It is easy to maintain, practical for busy households, and well suited to long-term use in living rooms, hallways, kitchens, and open-plan areas.
As a rustic grade engineered oak floor, High 5 European Oak celebrates the true nature of hardwood flooring. Expect natural knots, colour variation, and occasional sapwood, all of which contribute to a warm, lived-in look that cannot be replicated by imitation products. These natural features ensure every board is unique, creating a floor with depth, personality, and genuine European oak character.
From an installation perspective, this engineered floor offers excellent versatility. It can be glued directly to the subfloorfor a solid, permanent fit, or floated over an appropriate underlay, making it suitable for a wide range of projects, including renovations and new builds. The engineered construction provides superior dimensional stability compared to solid wood, making it more tolerant of Ireland’s changing indoor climates while still delivering the look and feel of traditional hardwood floors.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our High 5 Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
