Product Description
High 5 Earl Grey engineered flooring is a sophisticated and contemporary choice for homeowners seeking the elegance of real wood combined with modern performance. Available from FloorStore Direct, this premium 18mm thick European white oak engineered floor blends refined grey tones with authentic rustic character, making it ideal for modern Irish interiors.
Elegant Grey Stain with Brushed & UV Oil Finish
High 5 Earl Grey is finished with a carefully balanced grey stain that enhances the natural oak grain without overpowering it. The boards are brushed to remove softer fibres, increasing texture and visual depth, before being protected with a durable UV oil finish. This oil penetrates the wood to enrich its appearance while providing a breathable surface that is easy to maintain and repair over time.
Premium European White Oak Construction
Crafted from high-quality European white oak, this engineered flooring delivers the appearance of solid hardwood floors with the added benefit of improved stability. Engineered wood floors are specifically designed to handle changes in temperature and humidity, making them a practical and reliable choice for Irish homes and busy living spaces.
Rustic Grade with Natural Character
As a rustic grade engineered oak floor, High 5 Earl Grey showcases knots, colour variation, and sapwood as part of its natural charm. These features ensure every board is unique and give the floor warmth, authenticity, and a lived-in feel that works beautifully in both contemporary and traditional settings.
Flexible Installation Options
This engineered hardwood floor can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, permanent installation or floated over a suitable underlay, making it suitable for renovations, apartments, and new builds. Its versatility allows it to perform exceptionally well in living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, and open-plan areas.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our High 5 Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
