Product Description

High 5 Brushed Oak engineered flooring is a refined yet character-rich choice for homeowners and commercial clients seeking the warmth of real wood with the strength and stability required for modern living. Available from FloorStore Direct, this premium 18mm thick European white oak engineered floor delivers exceptional performance while celebrating the authentic beauty of natural hardwood.

Premium European White Oak Engineered Flooring

Manufactured using high-quality European white oak, High 5 Brushed Oak offers the visual appeal of solid wood with the enhanced stability of engineered construction. The multi-layer build significantly reduces movement compared to solid hardwood floors, making it an ideal solution for Irish homes where internal temperatures and humidity can fluctuate throughout the year.

Brushed & Matt Lacquered Finish

Each board is finished with a brushed and matt lacquered surface, a process that gently removes softer wood fibres to highlight the natural grain and texture of the oak. This technique adds depth and tactile interest while maintaining a clean, contemporary appearance. The matt lacquer provides long-lasting protection against daily wear without compromising the natural look of the wood.

Rustic Grade with Authentic Character

As a rustic grade engineered oak floor, High 5 Brushed Oak embraces the individuality of real timber. Knots, colour variation, and sapwood are intentionally present, giving each board its own personality. These natural features create a warm, lived-in aesthetic that suits both modern interiors and traditional Irish homes, ensuring no two floors ever look the same.

Flexible Installation Options

This engineered flooring can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid and permanent installation, or floated over a suitable underlay, making it suitable for renovations, apartments, and new builds alike. Its versatility allows it to perform exceptionally well across living rooms, hallways, kitchens, and open-plan spaces.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our High 5 Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
