Product Description
Bring timeless elegance and natural charm into your home with Heritage Oak Lyon, a beautifully refined engineered wood floor that combines classic craftsmanship with modern engineering. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading supplier of engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 18mm oak floor is the perfect blend of sophistication, strength, and style. Designed to enhance both contemporary and traditional interiors, Heritage Oak Lyon offers the perfect foundation for any Irish home.
Each plank of Heritage Oak Lyon features a luxurious matt lacquered finish that enhances the natural grain and tone of real oak while offering long-lasting protection against everyday wear. The matt finish provides a smooth, low-sheen surface that reflects light softly, giving your home a warm and inviting atmosphere. It maintains the authentic look of natural wood while adding a layer of durability, making it ideal for busy family spaces, elegant living rooms, and open-plan designs alike.
The universal grading of Heritage Oak Lyon ensures that every floor is full of character and variation. It includes a stunning mix of all oak grades — from clean, sleek planks with subtle grain to more rustic pieces that feature charming knots and natural variations. This blend creates a truly unique and organic aesthetic that feels timeless and alive. The result is a floor that celebrates the true beauty of oak — rich, warm, and full of personality.
Built to last, this 18mm engineered flooring is designed for stability and durability. Unlike solid oak floors, engineered floors are crafted with multiple layers that prevent movement caused by temperature or humidity changes — a vital feature for Ireland’s varied climate. This means your floor will remain stable, beautiful, and secure for many years, even in busy households or large commercial spaces.
The tongue and groove system allows for flexible installation. Heritage Oak Lyon can be glued directly to the subfloor for a traditional, solid feel, or floated over an underlay for faster installation and added comfort underfoot. Both options deliver a flawless, seamless finish that enhances any interior with sophistication and style.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Heritage Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
