Product Description

Bring warmth, depth, and timeless European elegance into your home with Heritage Oak Florence, a premium engineered wood floor that celebrates the natural beauty and authenticity of real oak. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 20mm vintage-grade floor captures the perfect balance between classic charm and modern craftsmanship. Its rich smoked tones, brushed texture, and protective matt lacquered finish make it a true statement piece in any space.

Each plank of Heritage Oak Florence is meticulously smoked, brushed, and finished with a matt lacquer, creating a beautifully aged appearance full of character and depth. The smoking process enhances the oak’s natural colour variation, infusing it with warm, earthy browns and subtle grey undertones. This gives the wood a sophisticated, lived-in look that pairs effortlessly with both contemporary and rustic interiors. The brushed finish accentuates the wood’s grain, adding a tactile dimension that feels luxurious underfoot, while the matt lacquered coating provides lasting protection with a natural, low-sheen finish that allows the texture and detail of the wood to shine through.

The vintage grading of Heritage Oak Florence embraces the true essence of authentic hardwood flooring. Each plank tells its own story — with visible knots, markings, and tonal variations that make every board unique. This distinct character gives your floor a warm, organic aesthetic, ideal for homeowners who value texture, depth, and individuality. It’s the perfect choice for those seeking a classic floor that complements Ireland’s traditional architecture or adds natural charm to modern design.

Built for performance as much as beauty, this 20mm multi-layered engineered floor delivers exceptional strength and stability. Unlike solid oak floors, engineered flooring is specifically designed to withstand Ireland’s changing climate, resisting movement caused by fluctuations in temperature and humidity. This ensures that your floor remains stable, secure, and stunning for years to come.

The tongue and groove system allows for flexible installation, meaning Heritage Oak Florence can be glued directly to the subfloor for a strong, long-lasting bond or floated over an underlay for a quicker, seamless fit. Both options provide a professional finish with a luxurious feel underfoot.

At FloorStore Direct, we’ve built our reputation as Ireland’s experts in engineered and hardwood flooring, combining over 20 years of experience with a passion for quality, design, and service. Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Heritage Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
