Product Description
Add light, texture, and timeless elegance to your home with Heritage Oak Bordeaux, a beautifully crafted engineered wood floor that combines the character of traditional oak with the durability and stability of modern flooring design. Available exclusively at FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s most trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this exquisite 18mm oak floor features a limewashed, brushed, and matt lacquered finish that enhances the natural beauty of oak while giving it a contemporary twist.
Each plank of Heritage Oak Bordeaux is carefully brushed and limewashed to highlight the wood’s natural grain, creating a floor that feels both rustic and sophisticated. The limewashing process gives the oak a soft, sun-bleached appearance that lightens the overall tone while allowing the warm, organic character of the timber to shine through. The brushed texture adds depth and definition, revealing the intricate details of the grain, while the matt lacquered finishprotects the surface from daily wear and tear without compromising its natural look. The result is a bright, inviting floor that brings warmth and style to any Irish home.
The universal grading of Heritage Oak Bordeaux includes a mix of all oak grades, combining the elegance of clean boards with the charm of rustic planks featuring natural knots, colour variations, and unique grain patterns. This blend creates a beautifully balanced appearance that feels authentic and full of life, making it the perfect choice for both modern and traditional interiors. Whether you’re designing an airy open-plan living space or updating a cosy cottage, this floor provides the perfect foundation for timeless design.
Crafted to the highest standards, this 18mm multi-layered engineered construction ensures exceptional stability and strength. Unlike solid wood, engineered flooring is designed to handle fluctuations in humidity and temperature, making it perfectly suited to Ireland’s climate. Its layered core structure provides durability while maintaining the warmth and authenticity of real hardwood. This means your floor will stay stable, secure, and beautiful for many years to come.
Installation is flexible and straightforward thanks to the tongue and groove system, allowing Heritage Oak Bordeaux to be either floated over an underlay or glued directly to the subfloor for a more permanent, professional finish. Both methods ensure a flawless fit and a luxurious feel underfoot.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Heritage Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
