Product Description

Bring rich, natural beauty and European elegance into your home with Heritage Oak Bayonne, a luxurious engineered wood floor that combines timeless design with superior craftsmanship. Available exclusively at FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s most trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this stunning 18mm oak floor features a brushed, stained, oiled, and matt lacquered finish that highlights the authentic character of real wood while ensuring long-lasting performance and durability.

Each plank of Heritage Oak Bayonne is meticulously brushed to accentuate the natural grain and texture of the oak, revealing its unique depth and pattern. The surface is then stained to achieve a beautifully balanced tone — deep yet warm, with subtle undertones that bring life and contrast to your interior. A protective layer of natural oil enriches the wood’s texture and enhances its tactile feel, while the final matt lacquered coating seals the surface, providing excellent resistance against daily wear and tear. The result is a floor that feels as luxurious as it looks — soft underfoot, full of depth, and effortlessly elegant.

The universal grading of Heritage Oak Bayonne combines all the natural qualities that make oak flooring so distinctive. It features a mix of clean, contemporary planks and rustic boards with visible knots, grain variations, and organic colour differences. This ensures your floor has a unique, authentic appearance that perfectly balances sophistication and character. Whether you’re creating a bright modern space or a classic heritage interior, this floor adds warmth and texture to any room.

Crafted with precision, this 18mm multi-layered engineered construction provides exceptional stability and strength. Unlike traditional solid wood, engineered flooring is designed to withstand changes in temperature and humidity, making it an ideal choice for Irish homes. Its innovative structure ensures minimal movement, maintaining a flawless finish throughout the seasons while retaining the charm and authenticity of natural hardwood.

The tongue and groove system allows for flexible installation. Heritage Oak Bayonne can be floated over an underlayfor faster fitting or glued directly to the subfloor for a more permanent, solid feel. Both methods deliver a seamless appearance and a secure, stable surface that stands the test of time.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Heritage Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
