Brighten Your Home with Krono Swiss Grand Selection Origin Sunshine
Imagine a floor that captures the soft, radiant glow of a morning sunbeam and holds it within your living space all year round. The Krono Swiss Grand Selection Origin Sunshine does exactly that. As the premier flooring specialist in the country, Floorstore Direct is proud to be the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring for those who refuse to settle for anything less than Swiss perfection.
The Origin Sunshine decor is designed for homeowners who want to create an atmosphere of warmth, energy, and openness. Featuring light, honeyed oak tones and a remarkably natural grain, this floor acts as a visual lift for any interior. Whether you are battling a grey Irish winter or enjoying a bright summer day, these planks reflect light beautifully, making your home feel more spacious and inviting.
Why the Origin Sunshine Range is the Ultimate Choice
What truly sets the Krono Swiss Origin collection apart is its massive physical presence. This isn’t just a standard laminate wood floor; it is a heavy-duty architectural element designed to look and feel like premium wide-plank hardwood.
- 14mm Thickness & XL Format: These planks are substantially thicker than standard laminate, offering a solid, “real-wood” feel underfoot. The long and wide format reduces the number of visible joints, creating a high-end, seamless aesthetic that is perfect for large, open-plan areas.
- AC5 Commercial Durability: Rated for the most demanding environments, the Origin Sunshine is built to withstand heavy foot traffic. It is highly resistant to scratches, dents, and the daily “chaos” of a busy family home.
- 72-Hour Water Resistance: Thanks to advanced Aquastop technology, this water-resistant laminate can handle moisture and spills for up to three days. This makes it a stress-free and stylish choice for kitchens, hallways, and dining rooms.
- Synchronized Texture (EIR): Using “Embossed-in-Register” technology, the surface texture perfectly matches the wood grain. When you walk on it, you feel the authentic ridges of natural oak.

Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Krono Swiss laminate flooring is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
