Elevate Your Interior with Krono Swiss Grand Selection Origin Moon
When it comes to modern interior design, the floor is the element that ties every room together. If you are searching for a floor that combines the ethereal beauty of a moonlit landscape with the rugged durability of high-end engineering, the Krono Swiss Grand Selection Origin Moon is the ultimate choice. At Floorstore Direct, we have built a reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring, and this stunning range is a perfect example of why our customers trust us for their home transformations.
The Origin Moon decor is a sophisticated blend of cool grey and silver tones, designed to mimic the raw, organic beauty of weathered oak. It offers a contemporary, high-end look that is both calming and stylish. Whether you are renovating a modern urban apartment or a traditional Irish farmhouse, this floor provides a neutral, elegant base that allows your furniture and decor to truly shine.
Why the Origin Moon 14mm Range is in a Class of Its Own
What makes the Krono Swiss Origin collection so special? It is built for those who refuse to compromise on quality. This isn’t your standard laminate wood flooring; it is a heavy-duty architectural statement.
- Substantial 14mm Thickness: This extra depth provides a solid, “real-wood” feel underfoot. It significantly improves the acoustics of your home, eliminating the hollow sound often associated with thinner floors and providing superior stability.
- Extra Long & Wide Planks: The oversized format of the Origin range creates a seamless, expansive aesthetic. These long and wide laminate planks reduce the number of visible joints, making even smaller rooms feel more open and luxurious.
- AC5 Commercial Grade Durability: Rated for the heaviest traffic, this floor is effectively “life-proof.” It is highly resistant to scratches, impact, and fading, ensuring it stays beautiful in the face of pets, children, and high-heeled traffic.
- 72-Hour Water Resistance: Featuring advanced Aquastop technology, this water-resistant laminate can withstand spills and moisture for up to three days. It is the perfect, worry-free solution for busy kitchens and hallways.

Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Krono Swiss laminate flooring is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
