Product Description
Elevate your home with the rich, sophisticated tones of Forest New Haven Oak, a luxurious engineered wood floor that blends traditional elegance with modern performance. Available exclusively at FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm floor offers a stunning dark oak finish that adds warmth, depth, and timeless style to any room. Perfect for both contemporary interiors and classic designs, Forest New Haven Oak brings a sense of refined comfort and long-lasting beauty to Irish homes.
Each plank of Forest New Haven Oak is dark colour stained, brushed, and finished with a matt lacquer, creating a beautifully smooth yet tactile surface that showcases the natural grain of the oak. The deep stain enhances the wood’s organic character, giving it a rich tone with subtle variations that add visual interest and luxury. The brushed texturehighlights the unique pattern of the grain, providing a natural, handcrafted look, while the matt lacquered finish delivers a soft, elegant sheen that protects the floor from everyday wear and tear without sacrificing its authentic appearance. The result is a floor that’s as durable as it is beautiful.
The universal grading of this floor includes all grades of oak, from clear and refined planks to those with natural knots and grain variations. This combination creates a floor full of personality and balance, striking the perfect blend between modern smoothness and rustic charm. Every board tells a story, ensuring that your floor feels truly unique — a perfect match for Ireland’s diverse range of interior styles, from sleek new builds to character-filled period homes.
Designed with both beauty and performance in mind, this 14mm multi-layered engineered construction offers exceptional stability and strength. Unlike traditional solid wood flooring, engineered floors are built to resist the effects of temperature and humidity changes, making them ideal for the Irish climate. This ensures your floor remains stable, secure, and stunning for years to come.
The tongue and groove system provides flexible installation options. Forest New Haven Oak can be floated over an underlay for quicker installation or glued directly to the subfloor for a more permanent, solid fit. Both methods guarantee a seamless finish and a floor that feels comfortable and robust underfoot.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Forest Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
