1. What is the difference between this 2.5mm Expona floor and the 2mm Camaro range? The 2.5mm gauge of the Expona Commercial range provides a thicker wear layer and enhanced structural stability. While Camaro is excellent for domestic use, Expona is built for "heavy commercial" traffic, meaning it offers even greater resistance to indentation and long-term wear in busy family areas.
2. Why is subfloor moisture testing so critical for a glue-down installation? Because Sherwood Oak is adhered directly to the subfloor, any residual moisture in a concrete screed can trap vapour under the LVT, preventing the adhesive from bonding and causing the planks to lift. At Floorstore Direct, we always recommend a professional moisture test to ensure your floor stays perfectly flat for its entire lifespan.
3. Is Sherwood Oak compatible with underfloor heating? Absolutely! In fact, glue-down LVT is an excellent thermal conductor. Because there is no air gap between the floor and the subfloor (unlike floating floors), the heat transfers efficiently into the room. It is perfectly safe for use with underfloor heating systems up to 27°C.
Recommend Adhesive
Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
