1. What is the difference between this 2.5mm Expona floor and the 2mm Camaro range? The 2.5mm gauge of the Expona Commercial range provides a thicker 0.55mm wear layer compared to the standard 0.3mm found in domestic ranges. This makes French Vanilla Oak significantly more resistant to indentation and heavy foot traffic, making it the superior choice for active households with pets or children.
2. Does the light "French Vanilla" colour show up dirt and marks easily? Actually, the subtle grain and high-quality Polyurethane (PUR) reinforcement make this floor incredibly practical. Unlike flat white floors, the natural wood-effect variations help to diffuse light and mask light dust, while the PUR treatment means a simple damp mop is all you need to keep it looking pristine.
3. Why is subfloor moisture testing so critical for a glue-down installation? Because French Vanilla Oak is adhered directly to the subfloor, any residual moisture in a concrete screed can trap vapour, preventing the glue from bonding correctly. At Floorstore Direct, we always recommend a professional moisture test to ensure your floor stays perfectly flat for decades.
Recommend Adhesive
Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
