Product Description

Bring timeless sophistication and natural beauty into your home with Esco Herringbone Smoked Natural, an exquisite engineered herringbone floor that captures the rich warmth and character of real oak. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and herringbone floors, this 14mm rustic-grade oak floor combines traditional parquet design with modern durability — creating a look that’s both classic and contemporary.

Each block of Esco Herringbone Smoked Natural is carefully smoked to deepen the natural colour of the oak, enhancing its warm brown tones and accentuating the beautiful grain detail that makes each piece unique. The UV oiled finish adds a refined matte sheen that highlights the texture of the brushed surface, providing a natural, tactile feel underfoot. This finish not only protects the wood from everyday wear but also allows it to breathe, ensuring long-lasting performance while maintaining that authentic, organic appearance.

As a rustic grade floor, Esco Herringbone Smoked Natural celebrates the natural imperfections of oak — knots, grain variations, and subtle colour differences that give each block its own character. This texture and individuality make it the perfect floor for homeowners who want depth, warmth, and personality in their interiors. Whether you’re creating a grand hallway, an elegant living space, or a modern open-plan design, this herringbone pattern adds sophistication and timeless appeal.

The 14mm engineered construction ensures exceptional strength and stability, making it a practical choice for Irish homes. Unlike traditional solid wood flooring, engineered flooring is designed to resist expansion and contraction caused by changes in temperature and humidity, guaranteeing a floor that remains beautiful and secure year after year. It’s a perfect blend of natural hardwood luxury and contemporary engineering precision.

At FloorStore Direct, we take pride in being Ireland’s most trusted experts in engineered and hardwood flooring. With over 20 years of experience, showrooms in Galway and Tullamore, and private flooring consultations with Siobhan, we help every customer find the ideal floor for their home or business — balancing beauty, quality, and value.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Esco Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
