Command Presence: Discover the Strength of Deco Dante Oak 12mm
When it comes to choosing a floor that defines a room, most homeowners want a balance of unmistakable beauty and “bulletproof” durability. Enter Deco Dante Oak. This isn’t your average laminate; it is a premium 12mm laminate flooring masterpiece designed for those who refuse to compromise. With its rich, mid-oak colour palette and intricate grain detailing, it captures the soulful essence of traditional Irish oak while offering the structural integrity of a heavy-duty modern floor.
At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our stripes as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring. From our bustling showrooms in Galway and Tullamore to our seamless online experience with nationwide delivery, we specialize in sourcing floors that stand up to the unique demands of Irish life. Whether you are renovating a high-traffic hallway or creating a sanctuary in your living room, Deco Dante Oak delivers a level of grounded luxury that is hard to match.
Why Deco Dante Oak is the Professional’s Choice
In the world of flooring, the numbers tell the story. While many standard floors stop at 8mm or 10mm, the 12mm thickness of Deco Dante Oak provides a solid, “real wood” feel underfoot and superior acoustic performance. But the real headline is its AC5 durability rating. This is the highest residential grade available, making it tough enough for even the most demanding commercial environments.
Key benefits of this Deco flooring include:
- Maximum Resilience: The AC5 surface is specifically engineered to resist heavy impact, scratches from pets, and the constant movement of furniture.
- Rich Mid-Oak Tones: This versatile shade bridges the gap between light and dark, masking everyday dust while radiating a warm, welcoming glow.
-
Substantial Feel: The 12mm core provides incredible stability and a firm walking sound that mimics solid hardwood.
-
Easy Maintenance: Unlike real oak or complex herringbone flooring patterns that require specific oils, this floor stays pristine with just a simple sweep.

Ask a Question
1. Is an AC5 rating overkill for a standard home? Not at all! While AC5 is tough enough for shops and offices, in a home environment, it simply means your floor will look "new" for much longer. It’s the ultimate insurance policy against busy families and household pets.
2. Can I install this 12mm floor over underfloor heating? Yes. Deco Dante Oak is perfectly compatible with water-based underfloor heating systems. Its density allows it to hold and radiate heat effectively, keeping your home cozy and energy-efficient.
3. How does the 12mm thickness affect the sound of the room? Thicker boards are naturally quieter. The 12mm HDF core absorbs more impact sound than thinner 7mm or 8mm alternatives, significantly reducing the "click-clack" noise often associated with older laminate floors.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Deco laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
