1. Does the "Smoked Oak" colour show dust easily? Actually, the smoked oak finish is highly effective at camouflaging everyday life. The deep, varied grain patterns and darker tones hide dust and minor debris far better than a very light or very dark, uniform floor.
2. Can I install Coretec Windsor over existing tiles? Because of its massive 15mm thickness and rigid SPC core, this floor is excellent at spanning minor grout lines and subfloor imperfections. In many cases, it can be installed directly over existing hard surfaces, saving you time and money on removal.
3. Is the cork backing as durable as the floor itself? Yes. Cork is naturally resilient and resistant to rot, mould, and mildew. It is compressed during the manufacturing process to ensure it remains stable for the lifetime of the floor, providing consistent comfort and sound dampening.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
