Rustic Grandeur: Elevate Your Interior with Coretec XL End Montclair
If you are looking to ground your home with the rugged, timeless beauty of a woodland retreat, Coretec XL End Montclair is the ultimate flooring solution. This isn’t just a standard vinyl floor; it is a heavyweight champion of design and durability. Featuring a stunning rustic oak colour, Montclair celebrates the natural “imperfections” of wood—bold knots, deep graining, and warm earthy tones—capturing the essence of reclaimed timber while providing the indestructible performance of 21st-century engineering.
At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy LVT and SPC flooring. Whether you are visiting our flagship showrooms in Galway and Tullamore or shopping online for fast nationwide delivery, we specialize in bringing elite products like Coretec flooring to Irish homeowners who demand a floor that is as tough as it is beautiful.
The 15mm Powerhouse: Why Thickness and SPC Matter
The “XL End” series represents the absolute summit of SPC flooring technology. While most standard floors feel lightweight, Coretec Montclair boasts a massive 15mm total thickness. This substantial profile provides the solid, premium “thud” underfoot usually reserved for solid hardwood, yet it remains completely “life-proof.“
Key features of this Coretec LVT include:
-
100% Waterproof Resilience: Perfect for the unpredictable Irish climate, this floor is immune to spills, leaks, and moisture—making it the dream choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms.
-
Eco-Friendly Cork Backing: Sustainability meets comfort. The built-in cork underlay is a renewable resource that provides natural thermal insulation, keeping your home warmer while offering incredible sound reduction.
-
Wide 228mm Planks: The broad format reduces visual clutter, creating a seamless, high-end flow that makes your living space feel more expansive and architecturally significant.
-
Rustic Oak Aesthetic: The multi-tonal grain masks everyday dust and pet hair with ease, making it a perfect choice for busy family households.

Ask a Question
1. Does the 15mm thickness help with uneven subfloors? Yes. Because of its massive 15mm profile and rigid SPC core,Montclair is much better at bridging minor subfloor imperfections than thinner LVT products, often resulting in a smoother, flatter finish without extensive floor prep.
2. Is the rustic texture hard to clean? Not at all. While the grain looks authentic and deep, the surface is completely non-porous and dirt-repellent. A simple sweep and an occasional damp mop with an LVT-safe cleaner will keep the rustic oak finish looking pristine.
3. Why is cork backing better than synthetic underlay? Cork is a natural insulator that stays warm to the touch and provides superior acoustic dampening. Furthermore, it is a sustainable material harvested from the bark of trees that continue to grow, making it the most eco-conscious choice for your home.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
