1. Is the "raw oak" colour hard to keep clean? Quite the opposite! The multi-tonal, pale grain of Kylemore is exceptionally good at camouflaging light dust and micro-scratches. Because it is 100% waterproof, a simple sweep and a damp mop with an LVT-safe cleaner will keep it looking pristine.
2. Does the 15mm thickness help with cold Irish floors? Yes. Between the dense SPC core and the natural built-in cork backing, this floor provides significantly better thermal insulation than standard laminate or tile. It is warm to the touch and fully compatible with underfloor heating.
3. Is this floor suitable for homes with large pets? Absolutely. The high-performance wear layer on Coretec XL End products is designed to resist scratches and scuffs from claws, while the 100% waterproof core ensures that any "accidents" won't damage the structural integrity of the floor.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please also refer to the manufacturers guidelines.
