Featuring the highly coveted greige oak colour, Egmont offers a sophisticated, muted palette that brings a soft, organic warmth to modern spaces while maintaining a crisp, contemporary edge. Its 228mm wide planks provide a sense of architectural scale, making rooms feel grounded, balanced, and high-end.
At Floorstore Direct, we have built our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy LVT and SPC flooring. Whether you visit our premier showrooms in Galway and Tullamore or shop online for fast nationwide delivery, we specialize in bringing elite Coretec flooring to Irish homeowners who demand a floor that is as resilient as it is beautiful.
The 15mm Powerhouse: Why Thickness and SPC Matter
The “XL End” series represents the absolute summit of SPC flooring technology. While most standard vinyl floors are relatively thin, Coretec Egmont boasts a massive 15mm total thickness. This substantial profile provides the solid, premium “thud” underfoot usually reserved for heavy solid hardwood, yet it remains completely “life-proof.“
Key features of this Coretec LVT include:
-
100% Waterproof Resilience: Engineered for the humid Irish climate, this floor is immune to spills, leaks, and moisture—making it the dream choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and open-plan living.
-
Eco-Friendly Cork Backing: Sustainability meets comfort. The built-in cork underlay is a renewable resource that provides natural thermal insulation, keeping your home warmer while offering incredible sound reduction.
-
The Greige Aesthetic: This versatile tone acts as a natural light-box, reflecting sunshine and pairing perfectly with everything from industrial metals to soft, cream textiles.
-
Extreme Stability: The rigid Stone Plastic Composite (SPC) core ensures your floor stays perfectly flat and resists indentations from heavy furniture or high foot traffic.

Ask a Question
1. What exactly is a "greige" oak colour? Greige is a masterful blend of grey and beige. It is popular because it provides the modern, clean look of grey flooring without the "coldness," utilizing beige undertones to keep the room feeling cozy and welcoming under Irish skies.
2. Does the 15mm thickness mean I don't need a separate underlay? Correct. Because Coretec XL End Egmont comes with a high-quality, built-in cork backing, you save time and money on installation. The cork provides all the cushioning, sound dampening, and insulation you need.
3. Is this floor suitable for homes with underfloor heating? Absolutely. Despite its thickness, the SPC core is a fantastic conductor of heat. The natural properties of the cork backing also help retain warmth, making it one of the most energy-efficient flooring options for heated subfloors.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
