1. Does the 305mm width work in smaller rooms? Absolutely! In fact, extra-wide planks are a designer’s secret for small spaces. Because there are fewer "break lines" or seams across the floor, it creates a less cluttered visual, which actually makes a compact room appear larger and more open.
2. Is the 15mm thickness compatible with underfloor heating? Yes. Despite its thickness, the Stone Plastic Composite (SPC) core is an excellent thermal conductor. When paired with the natural heat retention of the cork backing, it works efficiently with water-based underfloor heating to keep your home cozy.
3. What makes the cork backing "eco-friendly"? Cork is harvested by stripping the bark from the cork oak tree without harming the tree itself, which then regrows. It is a fully renewable, biodegradable, and sustainable material that provides superior sound dampening compared to synthetic foam underlays.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please also refer to the manufacturers guidelines.
