1. Is the 15mm thickness compatible with existing doors? Because 15mm is thicker than standard LVT, it is always wise to check your door clearances. However, this thickness is excellent for matching up with existing tile or carpeted areas, often eliminating the need for awkward, sloping transition thresholds.
2. Is the cork backing better for the environment than foam? Yes! Cork is harvested by stripping the bark from trees without cutting them down, making it one of the most sustainable materials in the world. It is naturally antimicrobial, biodegradable, and provides superior comfort compared to synthetic foams.
3. Does "100% Waterproof" include the cork backing? Absolutely. The entire plank, including the cork underlay, is engineered to be waterproof. Even if a spill sits on the surface, the core will not absorb moisture, and the cork is naturally resistant to mould and mildew.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor alongside Coretec's cleaning kit. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
