ABOUT CORETEC:
All Coretec Floors are 100% waterproof, kid proof and pet proof. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, they won’t warp or buckle even if fully submerged in water. The 8mm thickness (unheard of in vinyl floors) provides structure and stability that cannot be matched. Coretec is easy to install, care for and clean and can be fitted on top of any hard surface.
CORK UNDERLAY:
Cork is a natural product that is one of the most sustainable materials around. It is harvested from the cork tree and can be re-harvested every decade without any damage to the tree. This makes it ideal for todays ecological concerns. The benefits of cork don’t just stop there. It is warmer, quieter and conceals imperfections better than most other underlays. Cork will also provide you with a natural protection against mould and mildew.

Ask a Question
1. Does the "Everest" tile show "water-spotting" in high-moisture areas like bathrooms? In many Irish homes, "hard water" can leave unsightly white limescale spots on dark porcelain tiles. Because Everest features a very light, multi-tonal grey palette, it is exceptionally good at disguising water marks and dried droplets. The matte, protective wear layer is non-porous, meaning water sits on the surface rather than soaking in, allowing you to simply wipe it away without the "buffing" required for polished stone or gloss finishes.
2. How does the "Everest" tile handle the weight of heavy Irish kitchen appliances? Homeowners often worry that luxury vinyl might "dent" under the weight of an American-style fridge-freezer or a heavy range cooker. Everest is built with a high-density SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) core, which provides incredible "indentation resistance." Unlike softer, flexible LVT, the rigid 8mm core distributes the weight of heavy furniture and appliances evenly, ensuring that your floor remains perfectly level and free from "pressure pits" over time.
3. Will the "Everest" light grey tones make a room feel "cold" during the dark Irish winter? While the colour of Everest is cool and crisp, the material is remarkably warm. Standard stone or ceramic tiles have high "thermal conductivity," which sucks heat away from your feet. Everest, however, features a natural cork backing that provides excellent thermal insulation. This means the tiles remain closer to room temperature, providing a "cosy" feel underfoot even when the heating isn't on—offering the best of both worlds: a cool stone aesthetic with a warm timber-like feel.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
