Illuminate Your Home with Coretec Herringbone Juniper: The Ultimate Light Oak Aesthetic

If you are looking to capture the essence of a modern, sun-drenched coastal retreat right here in Ireland, Coretec Herringbone Juniper is your perfect match. Part of the highly coveted Coretec Naturals Series, this 8mm thick flooring solution reimagines the classic parquetry look through a contemporary lens. With its crisp, light oak tones and sophisticated graining, Juniper is designed to breathe life, air, and “Scandi-inspired” elegance into any room it graces.

Why Juniper is the Smarter Choice for Irish LVT Flooring

Irish weather can be unpredictable, but your flooring shouldn’t be. Coretec Herringbone Juniper is a 100% waterproof floor, making it the ideal candidate for moisture-prone areas like kitchens, utility rooms, and bathrooms. Unlike traditional solid wood, which can suffer in damp conditions, this SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) floor remains perfectly stable, no matter how many wet coats or umbrellas cross your threshold.

The secret to its longevity lies in its construction. With an 8mm profile and a multi-layered rigid core, it offers a “solid” feel underfoot that mimics real timber. This means it is “life-proof”—standing up to the frantic pace of busy households, clicking heels, and the energetic skidding of family pets without losing its lustrous finish.

The Design Power of Light Oak Herringbone

The “Juniper” colourway is a beautiful blend of pale sand and creamy-beige tones. By choosing a herringbone pattern in such a light shade, you gain the architectural interest of a complex layout without overwhelming the room. It acts as a neutral canvas, allowing your furniture and decor to pop. For smaller Irish homes or apartments, the light-reflecting properties of Juniper can make a space feel significantly larger, brighter, and more inviting.

Ask a Question

1. Does "Juniper" require a separate underlay for sound reduction in Irish apartments? One of the best features of Coretec Juniper is the attached cork underlayment. Not only does this provide natural warmth underfoot—essential for those chilly Irish mornings—but it also offers excellent sound dampening. In most cases, no additional underlay is required, making the installation process faster and more cost-effective.

2. How does the light oak "Juniper" visual handle "scuffing" from black-soled shoes? While light floors are often feared for showing marks, Juniper’s matte, textured finish is incredibly resilient. The high-performance wear layer is designed to resist scuffs. If a rubber mark does appear, a quick wipe with a damp microfibre cloth or a specialised LVT cleaner will lift it instantly without damaging the light oak aesthetic.

3. Is Coretec Herringbone Juniper suitable for use with electric underfloor heating? Yes, Juniper is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems. Its SPC core is a brilliant conductor of heat, ensuring your room warms up efficiently. However, it is important to follow the temperature guidelines (usually not exceeding 27°C) to ensure the longevity of the click-system and the integrity of the planks.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
