1. Does the light "Flora" colour show "mop streaks" more than darker herringbone floors? Actually, Flora is one of the most forgiving colours in the range. Its pale, matte finish and light oak grain are excellent at diffusing light, which naturally hides dried water spots and minor "cleaning streaks." For a flawless finish, we recommend using a microfibre mop and a pH-neutral cleaner.
2. Can I install Coretec Herringbone Flora directly over my existing ceramic tiles? Yes, provided the tiles are level and well-bonded. Thanks to the 8mm thickness and the rigid SPC core, Flora can bridge minor grout lines without "telegraphing" the texture of the tiles underneath. This makes it an ideal choice for Irish kitchen renovations where you want to avoid the mess of uplifting old floors.
3. Will the delicate "Flora" grain visual look too busy in a small apartment? On the contrary, the light oak tones of Flora are perfect for smaller spaces. While the herringbone pattern adds architectural interest, the pale colourway reflects natural light, which helps to "open up" a room. Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
