ABOUT CORETEC:
All Coretec Floors are 100% waterproof, kid proof and pet proof. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, they won’t warp or buckle even if fully submerged in water. The 8mm thickness (unheard of in vinyl floors) provides structure and stability that cannot be matched. Coretec is easy to install, care for and clean and can be fitted on top of any hard surface.
CORK UNDERLAY:
Cork is a natural product that is one of the most sustainable materials around. It is harvested from the cork tree and can be re-harvested every decade without any damage to the tree. This makes it ideal for todays ecological concerns. The benefits of cork don’t just stop there. It is warmer, quieter and conceals imperfections better than most other underlays. Cork will also provide you with a natural protection against mould and mildew.

Ask a Question
1. Does the "Marlow" colourway feature any orange or "dated" yellow undertones? Marlow is specifically designed to be a "modern-traditional" oak. While it is warmer than "Peruvia," it successfully avoids the brassy, orange tones seen in older laminates. It features a "wheat-and-honey" palette with subtle, ashy-brown graining that keeps the overall look contemporary. In an Irish setting, this warmth is particularly beneficial as it "counters" the blue-grey light of overcast days, making your living room feel cosy rather than clinical.
2. How does the 1800mm length of "Marlow" help with the "levelling" requirements of Irish subfloors? Because the 1800 Series planks are significantly longer, they require a very high standard of subfloor preparation. Irish homes with older concrete screeds or timber joists may have slight "dips" or "peaks." While the rigid WPC core of Marlow can bridge minor imperfections, the sheer length of the board means any significant unevenness will be more apparent (potentially causing "bounce" or "clicking" at the joins). It is vital to ensure your subfloor is level to within 3mm over a 3-metre radius to allow these grand planks to sit perfectly flat.
3. Will the "Marlow" grain pattern show "scuffing" from heavy outdoor footwear? Marlow features a medium-depth wood-grain texture that is very effective at masking surface-level wear. Because the colour is a "mid-tone," it doesn't highlight light-coloured dust as much as "Raven," nor does it show dark mud as clearly as "Eila." For an Irish household where "wet-weather" boots are a common occurrence, Marlow is arguably the most practical choice in the 1800 Series; however, we still recommend a high-quality coir mat at the entrance to prevent grit from acting like sandpaper on the matte finish.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
