ABOUT CORETEC:
All Coretec Floors are 100% waterproof, kid proof and pet proof. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, they won’t warp or buckle even if fully submerged in water. The 8mm thickness (unheard of in vinyl floors) provides structure and stability that cannot be matched. Coretec is easy to install, care for and clean and can be fitted on top of any hard surface.
CORK UNDERLAY:
Cork is a natural product that is one of the most sustainable materials around. It is harvested from the cork tree and can be re-harvested every decade without any damage to the tree. This makes it ideal for todays ecological concerns. The benefits of cork don’t just stop there. It is warmer, quieter and conceals imperfections better than most other underlays. Cork will also provide you with a natural protection against mould and mildew.

Ask a Question
1. Does "Juniper" have a "washed-out" appearance in rooms with high ceilings and bright light? Because Juniper is a very pale "linen" oak, it reflects a significant amount of light. In a room with large floor-to-ceiling windows or "Velux" roof lights—common in many modern Irish extensions—the floor will appear very bright and airy. However, it doesn't look "washed out" because of its subtle grey and tan lowlights within the grain. These darker "veins" provide enough contrast to ensure the floor maintains its character and doesn't simply disappear into the skirting boards.
2. How does the 1800mm plank length of "Juniper" assist in creating a "Scandi-Irish" aesthetic? The "Scandi" look relies on minimalism and clean lines. By using the 1800mm extra-long planks, you significantly reduce the "visual noise" created by shorter board joins. In an open-plan kitchen-diner, Juniper creates a vast, "seamless" sea of pale wood that mimics the high-end look of Douglas Fir or oversized White Oak. This makes the space feel more serene and sophisticated, providing a perfect backdrop for minimalist furniture or "poured-earth" tones.
3. Is "Juniper" prone to "yellowing" over time if exposed to UV light through patio doors? Irish homes often have large glazed areas to capture what little sun we get, raising concerns about UV discolouration. Juniper is engineered with a high-stability UV-protective layer. Unlike natural solid oak, which can "tan" or turn golden-yellow when exposed to sunlight, Juniper is designed to retain its "bleached" sandy tone. While we always recommend using curtains or blinds during peak sun hours to protect all interior finishes, Juniper is one of the most colour-stable options for south-facing "sunrooms" or conservatories.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
