ABOUT CORETEC:

All Coretec Floors are 100% waterproof, kid proof and pet proof. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, they won’t warp or buckle even if fully submerged in water. The 8mm thickness (unheard of in vinyl floors) provides structure and stability that cannot be matched. Coretec is easy to install, care for and clean and can be fitted on top of any hard surface.

CORK UNDERLAY:

Cork is a natural product that is one of the most sustainable materials around. It is harvested from the cork tree and can be re-harvested every decade without any damage to the tree. This makes it ideal for todays ecological concerns. The benefits of cork don’t just stop there. It is warmer, quieter and conceals imperfections better than most other underlays. Cork will also provide you with a natural protection against mould and mildew.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Iris" colourway pull more towards a blue-grey or a warm "taupe" grey? Iris is firmly in the cool-spectrum greige family. In rooms with natural daylight, you will notice a distinct "misty" charcoal undertone that can appear slightly blue-grey. However, unlike a "flat" industrial grey, Iris contains very faint "biscuit" coloured streaks in the grain. This means it won't feel "cold" or "icy" when paired with warm-toned soft furnishings, but it will certainly lean towards the cooler, more modern side of the Naturals collection.

2. How does the "Iris" finish disguise the "hazing" effect caused by kitchen spills? Because Iris has a muted, desaturated pigment, it is one of the most forgiving colours for high-moisture areas like kitchens. On very dark or very light glossy floors, dried water spots or "haze" from a damp mop can be quite obvious. The "smoky" matte finish of Iris naturally diffuses light in a way that masks these minor imperfections. It is an excellent choice for households where the kitchen is the "heart of the home" and daily spills are inevitable.

3. Will the "Iris" grain visual look too "busy" in a room with a lot of patterned wallpaper? Actually, Iris is one of the more uniform and "quiet" visuals in the range. While it has a lovely textured feel, the contrast between the base colour and the grain markings is quite low. Unlike the "Lumber" or "Bark" styles, which have high-contrast "character marks," Iris provides a very consistent, "stony" backdrop. This makes it a perfect "anchor" for rooms with bold feature walls, ornate rugs, or patterned wallpapers, as it won't compete for visual attention.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
