ABOUT CORETEC:

All Coretec Floors are 100% waterproof, kid proof and pet proof. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, they won’t warp or buckle even if fully submerged in water. The 8mm thickness (unheard of in vinyl floors) provides structure and stability that cannot be matched. Coretec is easy to install, care for and clean and can be fitted on top of any hard surface.

CORK UNDERLAY:

Cork is a natural product that is one of the most sustainable materials around. It is harvested from the cork tree and can be re-harvested every decade without any damage to the tree. This makes it ideal for todays ecological concerns. The benefits of cork don’t just stop there. It is warmer, quieter and conceals imperfections better than most other underlays. Cork will also provide you with a natural protection against mould and mildew.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Sorrel" colourway feature any red or mahogany undertones? Sorrel is primarily a warm, earthy umber. While it avoids the vivid "cherry" or "mahogany" reds of traditional 1990s flooring, it does have a very subtle copper glow when hit by direct sunlight. This makes it feel much "cosier" than the flatter, greyer tones of "Lumber" or "Swamp." It is an ideal choice if you want a dark floor that still feels "sun-kissed" and organic rather than cold and architectural.

2. How does the "Sorrel" grain pattern handle the appearance of "scuffing" from furniture? Because Sorrel has a relatively rich, consistent pigment with a fine grain visual, it can show "white" surface scuffs from dragged furniture slightly more than a highly distressed style. However, because it is a mid-dark tone, these are usually just superficial marks on the wear layer. A quick rub with a tennis ball or a specialised LVT repair spray usually lifts these marks instantly, as the colour of the board is deep enough to "hide" the indentation itself.

3. Will "Sorrel" make a room with dark grey kitchen cabinetry feel too "heavy"? Sorrel is actually a brilliant partner for the popular "Anthracite" or "Navy" kitchen trends in Ireland. Because it has those warm, toasted oak notes, it provides the necessary "warmth" to balance out cool-toned cabinetry. If you paired a grey kitchen with a grey floor, the room might feel sterile; Sorrel breaks that up, providing a "grounded" and welcoming kitchen-diner environment that feels balanced and intentionally designed.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
