ABOUT CORETEC:

All Coretec Floors are 100% waterproof, kid proof and pet proof. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, they won’t warp or buckle even if fully submerged in water. The 8mm thickness (unheard of in vinyl floors) provides structure and stability that cannot be matched. Coretec is easy to install, care for and clean and can be fitted on top of any hard surface.

CORK UNDERLAY:

Cork is a natural product that is one of the most sustainable materials around. It is harvested from the cork tree and can be re-harvested every decade without any damage to the tree. This makes it ideal for todays ecological concerns. The benefits of cork don’t just stop there. It is warmer, quieter and conceals imperfections better than most other underlays. Cork will also provide you with a natural protection against mould and mildew.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Acorn" colourway feature a high level of "knotting" in the visual grain? Acorn is designed to look like a premium-grade English Oak, meaning it has a refined, low-to-medium knot density. Unlike more rustic styles that might have large, dark "knotholes," Acorn features smaller, subtle pips and cat-paw markings. This makes it an ideal choice for a more formal hallway or lounge where you want the texture of real timber without the "busy" or cluttered look of reclaimed wood planks.

2. How does the "Acorn" tone interact with dark wood furniture, such as mahogany or walnut? Because Acorn has a rich, medium-brown base with slightly amber undertones, it provides a beautiful tonal bridge for traditional interiors. While a darker floor like "Bark" might make a room with walnut furniture feel too heavy or "closed-in," Acorn provides enough contrast to let dark furniture stand out. It creates a warm, layered look that feels classic rather than dated, especially when paired with off-white or cream-coloured skirting boards.

3. Will the deeper pigments in "Acorn" show dust and pet hair more than the lighter "Haze" style? Acorn occupies a "sweet spot" for maintenance. While very dark floors show every speck of dust and very light floors show every bit of dark debris, the warm, multi-tonal brown of Acorn is exceptionally good at masking day-to-day "lived-in" debris. For households with pets that have tan or brown coats, the Acorn grain acts as an excellent natural camouflage, meaning you won't feel the need to vacuum the entire ground floor every single morning to keep it looking pristine.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
