1. Does the grey "Veleta" tile show dust and footprints more than wood-effect floors? Actually, the multi-tonal grey grain of Veleta is incredibly "forgiving." Unlike solid dark tiles, the subtle stone-textured finish is designed to diffuse light, which naturally masks light dust and daily footprints. This makes it a fantastic low-maintenance choice for high-traffic Irish hallways and kitchens.
2. Can I install the 8.8mm Veleta Megatiles directly over my existing ceramic tiles? Yes, in many cases you can. Thanks to the rigid SPC core and the substantial 8.8mm thickness, Veleta can be installed over most hard, level surfaces. The integrated cork underlayment is excellent at "absorbing" minor grout lines, often saving you the mess and cost of uplifting old tiles.
3. Is the cork underlay on Veleta compatible with Irish underfloor heating? Absolutely. Cork is an excellent conductor of heat while maintaining its insulating properties. Coretec Veleta is fully compatible with most underfloor heating systems, allowing the warmth to permeate through the 8.8mm plank efficiently, ensuring your stone-look floor feels cosy and inviting all year round.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
