Transform Your Home with Coretec Megatile Albaron: The Ultimate Cream Stone Aesthetic

When it comes to creating a sense of “grandeur” and light within an Irish home, Coretec Megatile Albaron stands in a league of its own. This isn’t just a standard floor; it is a high-performance 8.8mm thick LVT masterpiece that captures the soft, serene beauty of Mediterranean stone. Featuring a delicate cream and beige palette, Albaron is designed for those who want to “open up” their living spaces while enjoying the indestructible benefits of modern flooring engineering.

Why Albaron is the Elite SPC Choice for Irish Renovations

In Ireland, our homes often battle with grey skies and damp weather. Albaron provides the perfect antidote, reflecting natural light to make hallways, kitchens, and sunrooms feel significantly larger and warmer. But its beauty is backed by incredible “brawn.” Coretec Megatile Albaron is a 100% waterproof floor, making it the premier LVT flooring choice for areas where spills are inevitable.

Built with a high-density SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) core, these extra-thick 8.8mm tiles offer unparalleled dimensional stability. Unlike traditional ceramic tiles, which can crack if the subfloor shifts or if a heavy pot is dropped, Albaron is “shatter-proof” and resilient. With a commercial-grade wear layer, it is “life-proof,” resisting scratches from pets and the heavy footfall of a busy household with ease.

The Aesthetic Advantage of Large-Format Megatiles

The Albaron “Megatile” format is a game-changer for contemporary design. The oversized tiles create fewer grout lines, resulting in a seamless, “high-end hotel” finish. The subtle cream and beige tones feature a “clouded” texture that mimics hand-finished limestone. Whether you are aiming for a minimalist Scandi vibe or a classic country kitchen, the 8.8mm profile provides a solid, premium sound underfoot that traditional, thinner vinyl simply cannot replicate.

Ask a Question

1. Does the light cream/beige colour of "Albaron" stain easily in a kitchen? Not at all. Unlike real limestone, which is porous and absorbs spills like red wine or coffee, Albaron features a high-performance PU-protective coating. It is non-porous and stain-resistant, meaning even the most stubborn spills sit on the surface and can be wiped away effortlessly with a damp microfibre mop.

2. How does the 8.8mm thickness affect the warmth of the floor compared to stone? The 8.8mm thickness is a massive benefit for Irish climates. Real stone tiles act as "heatsinks," pulling warmth away from your feet. Albaron features an integrated natural cork underlay which acts as a thermal barrier. It stays close to room temperature, providing a "soft and warm" feel underfoot that is far more comfortable for bare feet in the morning.

3. Can I install the Albaron Megatiles over my existing floorboards? Yes, provided the boards are level and secure. The rigid SPC core and the substantial 8.8mm thickness are specifically designed to bridge minor imperfections in the subfloor. This makes Albaron a fantastic choice for renovating older Irish homes where you want a "stone look" without the mess and height of a traditional screed and tile installation.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
