Designed for comfort, warmth and stability, it comes in a staggering 8mm thickness with a natural cork underlay. Cera Touch Katla 0495B is a stunning charcoal grey colour large tile which will provide warmth and depth to your room. The large tile is perfect for kitchens while remaining almost maintenance free but for those who may want a narrow plank it is also available in Katla 0495C. Because of its attached underlay you do not need to buy underlay separately.
About Coretec:
All Coretec Floors are 100% waterproof, kid proof and pet proof. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, they won’t warp or buckle even if fully submerged in water. 1. How does the "B" variation of Katla 0495b affect the visibility of dust in a bedroom setting? While dark floors are notorious for showing light-colored lint, Katla 0495b utilises a "honed" matte finish and subtle, low-contrast tonal shifts that help break up the visual field. This "B" variation is more uniform than the "C" version, but it still possesses enough mineral "clouding" to mask small amounts of dust or pet dander much better than a solid black or dark grey porcelain tile would.
2. Does the deep pigment of Katla 0495b require a special "non-streaking" cleaner? Because Katla 0495b has a rich, dark saturation, using cleaners with waxes or "mop-and-shine" additives can leave a visible, cloudy film or streaks. To keep the volcanic visual crisp and deep, it is best to use a pH-neutral cleaner (like the Coretec-branded cleaner or a simple mixture of water and a drop of dish soap). This ensures the 20-mil wear layer stays clear, allowing the natural stone beauty to pop without a greasy residue.
3. Will the integrated grout on Katla 0495b stay dark, or will it "whiten" over time like real mortar? Real grout is porous and absorbs minerals from cleaning water, which often causes it to turn white or "effloresce." The integrated grout in Katla 0495b is a non-porous, chemically fused polymer that is colour-matched to the dark slate. It is completely waterproof and stain-resistant, meaning it will maintain its dark, clean contrast for the life of the floor without the need for scrubbing or resealing.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Coretec Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
