Fairmont Oak Large Parquet is a stunning dark oak colour waterproof board. Our Colonia range of Luxury Vinyl Tiles are a glue down vinyl option which are suited for use in any area of the home or for commercial use. Because these floors are glued down they give you the highest of quality when it comes to durability. They are also 100% waterproof, suitable for underfloor heating and will be able to withstand whatever it takes over the years. Fairmont Oak Large Parquet must be fitted with a recommended LVT adhesive and all subfloors must be free from moisture and be completely level before installation. One of the huge benefits of a glue down board is you can pretty much design your own floor. With a number of feature strips, borders and the option to mix colours and lay your floor in different directions, your new floor can be custom created to your own style.

Product Description
Atmospheric Elegance: Transform Your Home with Fairmont Oak Large Parquet
If you are looking to create an interior that balances rustic soul with contemporary edge, Fairmont Oak Large Parquetfrom the Polyflor Colonia range is a peerless choice. This 2mm thick LVT captures the deep, moody essence of smoked oak, featuring a palette of rich umber and charcoal undertones. By utilising a larger plank format for the classic herringbone pattern, Fairmont Oak offers a grander, more architectural feel that perfectly suits large open-plan Irish homes, providing the prestige of a traditional parquet floor with a modern, atmospheric twist.
A True Designer’s Canvas: Creative Freedom with Polyflor Parquet
What makes the Colonia and Camaro collections the preferred choice for Irish interior designers is their status as a premier design option floor. Because Fairmont Oak is a permanent glue-down LVT, you are not restricted by the rigid limitations of standard “click” systems. At Floorstore Direct, we pride ourselves on helping our customers create bespoke spaces. With this range, you have the flexibility to:
-
Fit in Multiple Directions: Whether you prefer a traditional herringbone V-shape, a double-plank pattern, or a diagonal layout to lead the eye through a room, these planks adapt to your vision.
-
Integrate Borders and Feature Strips: Elevate your project by adding a decorative perimeter or using Polyflor feature strips in “Graphite” or “Silver” to create a striking ship-deck effect that highlights the smoked grain. This level of customisation ensures that your floor is a unique, one-of-a-kind reflection of your personal style.
Engineered for High-Performance Irish Living
Fairmont Oak is designed to withstand the rigours of a busy household while maintaining its deep, polished appearance. As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the ultimate practical solution for moisture-heavy areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms where real timber would inevitably warp or swell.
To achieve a professional, high-end finish, the installation process is critical. This floor must be adhered to a subfloor that is perfectly level, smooth, and entirely free from moisture before the adhesive is applied. This permanent bond provides superior structural stability and a quiet, solid feel underfoot. Furthermore, it is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C), ensuring your home stays snug and warm during those damp Irish winters.

Ask a Question
1. What is the benefit of "Large Parquet" over a standard small-block herringbone? The larger plank format in the Fairmont Oak range offers a more contemporary, less "busy" look. It is particularly effective in larger rooms, as it reduces the number of visual lines, making the floor look grand and sophisticated while still honouring the iconic herringbone charm.
2. Why is subfloor moisture testing so critical for a glue-down installation? Since this LVT is adhered directly to the subfloor, any residual moisture in a concrete screed can trap vapour, preventing the glue from bonding and eventually causing the planks to lift. At Floorstore Direct, we always recommend a professional moisture test to ensure your investment remains perfectly flat for its entire lifespan.
3. Does the "Smoked Oak" colour make a room feel smaller? Actually, the deep tones of Fairmont Oak can add incredible depth and character. When paired with light-coloured walls and modern lighting, it creates a high-contrast, "designer" look that can make a room feel more structured and premium rather than smaller.
Recommend Adhesive
Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
