Product Description
In the world of interior design, the “raw” look is having a major moment. If you want the aesthetic of untreated, authentic timber without the vulnerability of natural wood, the Quick-Step Classic Raw Oak (CLM5788) is your perfect match. At Floorstore Direct, we have built our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by offering premium styles that bring the serene vibes of nature directly into your home.
The Raw Oak decor is celebrated for its soft, neutral palette. It features light, sandy tones and a realistic wood structure that mimics the appearance of freshly sawn oak. This “greige” undertone makes it an incredibly versatile foundation, perfect for brightening up a dark hallway or creating a calm, Scandi-inspired bedroom. Because the colour is so neutral, it pairs effortlessly with everything from bold navy walls to minimalist white cabinetry.
Why Quick-Step Classic is an Irish Favourite
Irish households demand floors that are “life-proof.” Between our famously damp weather and the hustle of family life, your floor needs to be as tough as it is beautiful. This 8mm thick laminate from Quick-Step is part of the legendary Classic range, known for balancing high-end technology with exceptional value.
- 100% Surface Water Resistance: Thanks to the innovative HydroSeal technology, Raw Oak is completely watertight on the surface. Spills in the kitchen or wet footprints in the hallway are no longer a disaster—moisture simply beads on top for easy cleaning.
- AC4 Heavy Residential Rating: This floor is built to last. It is highly resistant to wear and tear, featuring a patented Scratch Guard top layer that makes it up to ten times more resilient against micro-scratches than standard floors.
- Seamless Uniclic Installation: Forget messy glues. The world-famous Uniclic system allows the planks to lock together securely, ensuring a gap-free finish that stands the test of time.

Ask a Question
1. Is "Raw Oak" too light for a busy family home? Actually, the light, natural tones of Raw Oak are excellent at disguising dust and pet hair. Because it has a matte finish and a realistic grain, it maintains a clean look much longer than darker, high-gloss floors.
2. Can I install this in my bathroom? Yes! The HydroSeal coating makes it suitable for moisture-prone areas. For a 100% watertight finish, we recommend using the Quick-Step Water Resistant Finishing Kit around the edges of the room.
3. Does 8mm thickness feel solid? Absolutely. While thinner than 12mm boards, 8mm is the industry standard for high-quality domestic laminate. When paired with a premium underlay, it provides a solid sound and comfortable feel underfoot.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Quick-Step laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
