Product Description
Elegant, bright, and timelessly beautiful, Taj Mahal Oak 180 is a true celebration of natural oak at its finest. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading supplier of engineered floors and hardwood flooring, this exquisite 15mm engineered oak floor combines craftsmanship, style, and strength to create a surface that exudes luxury and sophistication. Perfect for both traditional and contemporary interiors, its light tones and natural texture make it an ideal choice for homeowners who value quality and design.
Each plank of Taj Mahal Oak 180 is crafted from high-quality European oak, known for its durability and stunning natural grain. The light colour stain softly enhances the oak’s natural hues, giving the floor a warm, luminous tone that brightens any space. Whether you’re designing a modern apartment, a coastal-style home, or a classic Irish country house, the delicate, sun-kissed shade of Taj Mahal Oak adds elegance and a sense of calm to your interior.
The brushed finish gives this floor its signature texture and authenticity. This process gently removes the softer fibres of the wood, accentuating the grain and creating a beautifully tactile surface. The brushing adds depth and character, allowing the light to play across the boards in subtle variations. Every plank tells its own story, with natural details that make the floor both unique and inviting.
To protect and enhance the wood, the surface is sealed with a matt lacquer finish. This low-sheen coating offers a modern, understated elegance while providing excellent resistance to scratches, spills, and everyday wear. It preserves the oak’s natural appearance while adding durability and ease of maintenance, making Taj Mahal Oak 180 perfect for busy family homes or stylish commercial spaces.
With its rustic grading, this engineered floor celebrates the natural beauty and imperfections of real oak. Expect charming knots, grain variations, and traces of sapwood, all of which contribute to the floor’s organic, lived-in character. This rustic texture adds warmth and depth to any room, creating a homely atmosphere that feels grounded and welcoming.
The 15mm thickness and 180mm width of each plank strike the perfect balance between strength and elegance. The multi-layer engineered construction offers exceptional stability, preventing warping or movement — even in Ireland’s changing climate. For flexibility during installation, this floor can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, long-lasting fit or floated using its tongue & groove system for quicker and easier fitting. It’s also compatible with underfloor heating, providing comfort all year round.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
