Product Description
Bright, elegant, and full of character — Castro Santorini White Oak 220 captures the timeless beauty of real oak with a contemporary twist. This stunning engineered floor is available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors. Designed for those who appreciate natural craftsmanship with a modern edge, Santorini White Oak is the ideal choice for creating light, open, and welcoming interiors that exude quality and sophistication.
Each plank of Castro Santorini White Oak 220 is expertly crafted from high-quality European oak, measuring 15mm thick and 220mm wide. The extra-wide format enhances the natural grain and texture of the wood, giving rooms a spacious, luxurious feel. The precision milling ensures tight joins and a smooth, seamless finish that reflects the superior craftsmanship and engineering behind this beautiful floor.
The surface of this floor is brushed to reveal the oak’s natural texture, creating a subtle yet tactile finish. Brushing removes the softer wood fibres, leaving behind a gently rippled surface that feels authentic underfoot. This texture adds dimension and highlights the distinctive grain patterns, making each plank completely unique. The brushing is perfectly complemented by a limewashed finish, which softens the oak’s natural tone and infuses it with a gentle, coastal charm.
To protect and enhance the wood, the surface is sealed with a matt lacquer finish. This subtle coating preserves the raw, natural look of oak while adding durability and resistance to daily wear. Unlike glossy finishes, a matt lacquer reflects very little light, maintaining a calm, natural aesthetic that suits both modern and traditional interiors. The finish is also easy to maintain, making it ideal for busy family homes, open-plan spaces, and high-traffic areas.
As a rustic grade floor, Castro Santorini White Oak 220 embraces the beauty of nature. You’ll find visible knots, tonal variations, and areas of sapwood that give each plank its own distinctive character. This grading ensures that your floor feels authentic and full of life — no two boards are ever exactly the same.
This engineered oak floor must be glued directly to the subfloor, providing a secure and long-lasting installation. The multi-layered construction of engineered flooring ensures greater stability than solid wood, making it perfect for use with underfloor heating and ideal for Ireland’s variable climate. The strength of the engineered core helps the floor resist expansion and contraction, ensuring it retains its form and finish for years to come.

Recommend Adhesive
Because of the excessive length and width of our Castro 220 Boards we advise them to be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
