Product Description

If you’re searching for a floor that blends natural elegance with coastal-inspired charm, Castro Santorini White Oak 180 is the perfect choice. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading supplier of engineered floors and hardwood flooring, this stunning 15mm engineered oak floor captures the relaxed beauty of Mediterranean living with a modern Irish twist. Its wide 180mm boards, limewashed tones, and subtle texture make it the ideal foundation for bright, open, and timeless interiors.

Crafted from premium European oak, Castro Santorini White Oak 180 is designed to bring the warmth of natural wood into your home while maintaining a light, airy aesthetic. The limewashed finish gives the floor its distinctive pale tone — a soft, whitewashed effect that brightens spaces and highlights the natural grain of the oak. Perfect for creating a sense of space and calm, this finish pairs beautifully with both modern minimalist design and rustic coastal décor.

The brushed surface adds texture and depth, enhancing the tactile quality of the wood. By gently removing the softer fibres, the brushing process accentuates the natural grain, knots, and lines of the oak. The result is a floor that feels authentic underfoot and showcases the craftsmanship behind every plank. This technique also improves durability, making the surface more resistant to scratches and everyday wear — ideal for family homes and busy spaces.

Finished with a matt lacquer, Castro Santorini White Oak achieves the perfect balance between natural beauty and long-lasting protection. The lacquer preserves the floor’s raw, organic look while providing a durable, easy-to-maintain layer that resists stains and moisture. The soft, non-reflective sheen adds to its contemporary appeal, ensuring the oak looks as good years from now as it does today.

With a rustic grading, this floor embraces the natural charm of real wood, featuring knots, gentle colour variation, and touches of sapwood that make each board unique. These organic imperfections give Castro Santorini White Oak 180its distinctive personality, adding warmth and authenticity to any setting.

The 14mm engineered construction offers exceptional stability and performance. Built with a strong multi-layer core, it’s less prone to movement caused by changes in humidity or temperature — making it ideal for Ireland’s varied climate. It’s also suitable for use with underfloor heating, ensuring year-round comfort. Installation is versatile too — it can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, traditional feel or floated using its tongue & groove system for a faster, cleaner installation.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
