Product Description

Classic, refined, and built to last, Castro Prestige Oak 180 brings together the timeless elegance of oak with the precision and durability of modern engineering. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s number one destination for engineered floors and hardwood flooring, this stunning 15mm oak floor is designed to elevate any home or commercial space. With its wide 180mm boards, rich natural tones, and exquisite brushed finish, it’s the perfect blend of luxury, warmth, and craftsmanship.

Crafted from premium European oak, Castro Prestige Oak 180 showcases the natural beauty of the wood in every detail. The brushed finish enhances the texture of the grain, highlighting the oak’s intricate patterns while adding depth and tactile charm. This process removes the softer fibres of the timber to reveal the natural ridges of the grain, giving each plank a beautifully organic feel underfoot. The result is a floor that looks as authentic as it feels — solid, characterful, and inviting.

The matt lacquer finish completes the look with a subtle, contemporary sheen. Unlike high-gloss coatings, a matt lacquer preserves the natural appearance of the wood while providing outstanding durability. It protects against everyday wear, spills, and scratches, ensuring your floor remains beautiful for years to come. This finish is particularly popular in Irish homes for its soft light reflection and easy maintenance — the perfect balance of practicality and style.

With a rustic grading, Castro Prestige Oak 180 embraces the natural variations that make real wood so special. You’ll find knots, grain patterns, and subtle colour differences that tell the story of the tree it came from. Touches of sapwood and organic markings add authenticity and charm, giving your floor a truly unique personality. This rustic detail pairs effortlessly with both contemporary interiors and classic design schemes, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in any room.

At 15mm thick and 180mm wide, this engineered floor provides a solid and stable structure that performs beautifully across Ireland’s diverse climates. The multi-layered core construction ensures long-term durability and makes it suitable for use with underfloor heating, offering comfort as well as style. Installation is flexible — it can be glued directly to the subfloor for a secure, traditional finish or floated using its tongue & groove system for a quicker and more convenient fitting process.

As Ireland’s trusted experts in engineered and hardwood flooring, FloorStore Direct has been helping homeowners, builders, and interior designers achieve their dream spaces for over two decades. With showrooms in Tullamore and Galway, and expert consultations from Siobhan and our knowledgeable team, we make selecting and fitting your new floor easy, enjoyable, and perfectly tailored to your space.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
