Product Description
Add timeless sophistication and lasting durability to your home with Castro Imperial Oak Herringbone, a stunning engineered herringbone floor that blends modern performance with the natural beauty of real oak. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered floors, herringbone flooring, and hardwood floors, this beautiful design brings a sense of heritage and luxury to any interior space.
Crafted with precision, Castro Imperial Oak Herringbone is a 15mm thick engineered floor that must be glued directly to the subfloor, ensuring long-term stability and a professional-quality finish. Its multi-layered construction provides excellent structural integrity, resisting warping and movement while maintaining the authenticity of solid wood. This makes it an ideal choice for Irish homes where underfloor heating and fluctuating humidity can challenge traditional hardwood flooring.
Each block of this engineered herringbone floor reveals the rich character of European oak. The brushed surfaceenhances the grain and texture of the wood, giving it a naturally tactile feel underfoot. The matt lacquer finish provides a smooth, protective layer that resists everyday wear and tear while allowing the oak’s organic tones to shine through beautifully. The result is a surface that’s both stylish and practical, perfect for busy homes that demand elegance without compromise.
The herringbone pattern itself is a hallmark of luxury flooring design, favoured for centuries for its sense of movement and sophistication. The geometric arrangement creates a timeless statement that works equally well in contemporary and classic settings — from minimalist city apartments to restored period homes. Castro Imperial Oak Herringbone brings that sense of architectural refinement to your space, transforming your floor into a true design feature.
With its rustic grading, this engineered floor embraces the natural imperfections that make oak flooring so beloved. Expect visible knots, tonal variations, and touches of sapwood — each board telling its own story of nature’s craftsmanship. These organic characteristics ensure no two planks are ever identical, giving your floor a warmth and authenticity that manufactured alternatives simply can’t replicate.
At FloorStore Direct, we specialise in premium engineered floors that combine the beauty of natural hardwood with modern innovation. We’re proud to offer nationwide delivery, expert advice, and competitive pricing, making us Ireland’s number one choice for homeowners and interior designers alike.

Recommend Adhesive
Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
