Warmth and Character: Transform Your Home with Camaro Wild Amber Oak

If you want to bring the inviting glow of a sun-drenched rustic cottage into your living space, Wild Amber Oak from the Polyflor Camaro collection is the perfect choice. This 2mm thick LVT masterfully captures the essence of traditional timber, featuring a rich, golden oak colour tone that radiates warmth. Designed with a rustic soul, the planks showcase authentic grain patterns, knots, and subtle tonal variations that give the floor a storied, lived-in feel. Whether you are aiming for a classic farmhouse kitchen or a cosy, traditional living room, Wild Amber Oak provides a timeless foundation that feels as natural as it looks.

A Bespoke Design Canvas: The Beauty of Glue-Down LVT

One of the primary reasons professional designers across Ireland recommend the Polyflor Camaro range is the sheer creative freedom it offers. As a permanent glue-down floor, Wild Amber Oak serves as a versatile canvas for your interior vision. This is a true “design option” floor, meaning you aren’t restricted to a simple plank layout. At Floorstore Direct, we often help customers elevate this floor by incorporating Polyflor feature strips and borders. You can add a dark grouting strip to mimic a traditional ship-deck look or use marquetry strips to create a decorative perimeter that frames your room like a work of art.

Technical Excellence for the Modern Irish Household

While it captures a vintage aesthetic, Wild Amber Oak is built with cutting-edge flooring technology. Because it is a glue-down product, it offers superior structural stability and a solid, quiet feel underfoot.

  • 100% Waterproof: This floor is entirely impervious to moisture, making it the premier choice for splash zones in kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms.

  • Polyurethane (PUR) Reinforcement: The surface is treated with a high-quality PUR coating, ensuring it is exceptionally easy to maintain and resistant to the daily scuffs, scratches, and spills of family life.

  • Underfloor Heating Compatible: It is an excellent thermal conductor, making it perfect for use with underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C) to keep your home snug during those damp Irish winters.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Wild Amber" golden tone make a room feel smaller or larger? Because of its warm, reflective golden hues, Wild Amber Oak actually helps to brighten a room, making it feel more spacious and airy. The rustic grain adds depth without being overwhelming, making it an excellent choice for both small snugs and large, open-plan kitchen-diners.

2. Why is subfloor moisture testing so critical for this glue-down floor? Since Wild Amber Oak must be adhered directly to the subfloor, any residual moisture can prevent the glue from bonding correctly. This can lead to planks lifting or "bubbling" over time. We always recommend a professional moisture check and the use of a smoothing compound to create a glass-like finish before installation.

3. Is this floor suitable for high-traffic areas with pets? Absolutely. The 0.3mm wear layer combined with the PUR surface treatment makes it highly resistant to the daily "wear and tear" of pet claws and heavy footfall. It is a durable, practical alternative to real oak that won't require the sanding or sealing that natural timber demands.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
