Product Description
The Greige Standard: Elevate Your Home with Camaro Waterside Oak
If you are searching for the perfect balance between the warmth of a classic wood floor and the sleek modernity of grey tones, Waterside Oak from the Polyflor Camaro collection is the ultimate interior solution. This 2mm thick LVTmasterfully captures the “greige” aesthetic—a sophisticated blend of grey and beige that has become the gold standard for contemporary Irish design. Waterside Oak offers a soft, muted palette that adapts beautifully to changing light, making it a versatile foundation for any room, from a bustling family kitchen to a tranquil master bedroom.
Bespoke Craftsmanship: The Versatility of Glue-Down LVT
One of the primary reasons professional designers recommend the Polyflor Camaro range is the creative freedom it provides. Because Waterside Oak is a glue-down floor, it is not limited by the rigid constraints of click systems. At Floorstore Direct, we take pride in helping our customers unlock the full potential of this design option flooring. With Waterside Oak, you have the flexibility to:
-
Fit in Multiple Directions: Lay the planks diagonally to draw the eye across a room or create a bespoke focal point in an open-plan living area.
-
Add Borders and Feature Strips: Elevate the finish by incorporating contrasting feature strips to mimic traditional ship-decking or frame your space with a decorative perimeter border. Whether you prefer a clean, seamless look without strips or a highly customised pattern, this floor is designed to reflect your unique personal style.
Engineered for High-Performance Irish Living
Waterside Oak is more than just a beautiful surface; it is built for the rigours of everyday life. As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the premier choice for splash-prone areas such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens where real timber would inevitably fail.
To achieve a professional, high-end finish, the installation process is key. This floor must be permanently adhered to the subfloor, which should be perfectly level, smooth, and free from moisture before you begin. This permanent bond provides superior acoustic performance and structural stability, ensuring your Polyflor flooring feels solid and quiet underfoot.

Ask a Question
1. Why is "Greige" such a popular choice for Irish homes? Greige is the ultimate chameleon colour. Because Ireland often has soft, overcast light, pure grey can sometimes feel a bit cold. Waterside Oak’s greige tones pull in enough beige warmth to keep a room feeling cosy, while the grey undertones ensure it looks modern and sophisticated.
2. Can I install Waterside Oak over my existing floorboards? To ensure the glue-down adhesive creates a perfect bond, you cannot lay this 2mm LVT directly over old floorboards. You must first over-ply the area with 6mm flooring-grade plywood or use a smoothing compound to create a glass-like, moisture-free surface. This prevents any gaps or grain from the subfloor "telegraphing" through to your new floor.
3. Is this floor suitable for use with underfloor heating? Absolutely! Waterside Oak is an excellent thermal conductor. Because it is glued directly to the subfloor, there is no air gap, allowing the heat to transfer efficiently into your room. It is perfectly safe for use with underfloor heating systems up to 27°C.
Recommend Adhesive
Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
