Product Description

Modern Heritage: Elevate Your Home with Waterside Oak Large Parquet

If you are looking to combine the timeless elegance of a stately home with the sleek, cool tones of contemporary design, Waterside Oak Large Parquet from the Polyflor Camaro collection is the ultimate flooring solution. This 2mm thick LVT redefines the classic herringbone pattern by using a larger plank format, creating a bolder, more architectural statement. Featuring a stunning greige oak colour palette—a perfect fusion of warm beige and sophisticated grey—this floor provides a neutral yet striking foundation that adapts beautifully to the changing light of the Irish climate.

The Ultimate Design Option: Bespoke Herringbone Excellence

What sets the Camaro parquet range apart is the sheer creative freedom it offers to homeowners and designers alike. As a permanent glue-down LVT, Waterside Oak is a versatile canvas for bespoke interiors. Because it is a “design option” floor, you are not limited to a standard layout. At Floorstore Direct, we often see customers push the boundaries of style by:

  • Using Feature Strips: Adding a dark or metallic inlay strip to accentuate the herringbone pattern and mimic traditional grouting.

  • Creating Borders: Framing a large open-plan space with a perimeter border to create a “rug” effect under dining tables or in hallways.

  • Multiple Directions: Fitting the parquet in different orientations to define separate zones within a modern home.

Uncompromising Durability for High-Performance Living

While it captures the delicate beauty of real fumed oak, Waterside Oak Large Parquet is built for the realities of a busy household. As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the premier choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms where real timber parquet would warp or lift.

Because this is a glue-down product, it provides superior structural stability and a quiet, solid feel underfoot. To achieve that professional, high-end finish, it is essential that the subfloor is perfectly level and entirely free from moisturebefore installation. This ensures the adhesive creates a lifetime bond, keeping your parquet looking flawless for decades.

Ask a Question

1. What is the benefit of a "Large Parquet" plank over standard herringbone? The larger plank format in the Waterside Oak range offers a more modern, less "fussy" look than traditional small-block parquet. It is particularly effective in large, open-plan areas, as it reduces the number of visual lines, making the room feel more expansive and grand.

2. Can I install this herringbone floor over an existing tiled surface? To ensure the glue-down adhesive works correctly and to prevent "telegraphing" (where tile patterns show through the LVT), you cannot lay it directly on tiles. However, we can advise you on using a suitable primer and a high-quality smoothing compound to create a perfectly flat, moisture-free subfloor over your old tiles.

3. Is "Greige" a good choice for a north-facing room in Ireland? Absolutely! Greige is the perfect neutral for Ireland's unique light. While pure grey can sometimes feel cold in north-facing rooms, the beige undertones in Waterside Oak provide enough warmth to keep the space feeling cosy, even on a rainy afternoon.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Polyflor LVT Flooring must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
